Method & Production

Only in particularily good years Johanneshof Reinisch make the Holzpur Grande Reserve. They use only the best of the St Laurent grapes which come from the estates oldest vines. The wine is spontaneously fermented in large oak cask. After fermentation they put the wine in small wooden barrels for at least twenty-two months to mature and then a further six months in bottle is required before release. 

Tasting notes

Aromas of forest berries and bitter chocolate, dense, elegant acidity, mature tannins. 

Food matching

This wine fits excellent to game, roast and dark meat.
