Terre Siciliane Rosso

Method & Production

Grapes from two vineyards situated in in-land Sicily are blended to make this wine. Some come from Tagliavia which is located in the stunning Monreale 500metres above sea level, and the others originate from Don Tomaso in San Cipirello 400metres above sea level. Both vineyards are managed organically with yields of 8 tonnes per hectare.
The grapes follow an organic training method, undergoing Guyot pruning and are harvested by hand in early September.

The wine is dedicated to the memory of Mafia victims and to those who actively demonstrate opposition to Sicilian criminal organisations through their work and on a daily basis.

Tasting notes

This healthily acidic wine is a deep, ruby red in colour and embodies delightfully fruity tones on the nose, of black cherry and dried plum. Hints of cloves and leather add an interesting complexity which is also continued on the palate. Medium tannins and a full structure complete the profile to give this wine great Southern Italian character.

Food matching

A great accompaniment to salami, antipasti and caponata but also primi pasta dishes such as Pasta alle Sarde.
