Method & Production

The Salcheto Obvius Rosso is made with grapes from the younger Prugnolo Gentile vines in the Vino Nobile vineyards. Maceration of 1 week on skins. Fermented and matured for four months in stainless steel and left to rest in bottle for another six months. Salcheto ensures it is made with the highest quality grapes, with the quickest, most delicate transportation from vineyard to winery, with 100% sustainable, utilizing CO2 fermenters and with bottling and aging in complete absence of oxygen with no added sulphites. 

Tasting notes

This is a fruit-focussed, fleshy expression of Prugnolo Gentile. It shows intense dark fruits on the nose of black and red cherry, ripe blackcurrents and juicy berries. The use of stainless steel and exclusion of oxygen in the winemaking process has ensured the wine stays fresh, with a bright acidity that lifts depth and intensity of the luscious fruit flavors.
