Contini Gets Gold… Twice!

Applauded simultaneously for complexity on the palate and flexibility to both introduce or finalise a meal as a fabulous aperitif or with dessert and biscuits, this 24 year old white Riserva with its salted caramel characteristics and parallel citrus and mineral charm is indeed worthy of such success. The prowess of this wine is particularly evident in a splendid match with the typically Sardinian Grey Mullet Botargo (Bottarga).

Harking back to their first awards for Vernaccia at the Milan Exhibition of 1912 and 1913, the double award marks a prosperous year for the century-old Sardinian Winery as the IWC alone awarded them two Gold Medals (the other for their Vernaccia Valle del Tirso Karmis, 13 - also stocked by Astrum), one  Silver, one Bronze and commended another two wines.

The Vernaccia di Oristano Riserva 90 is available and in stock at Astrum Wine Cellars. Please email us at  info@astrumwinecellars.com for more information.
