* NEW * Producers in the Astrum Portfolio
Caldora forms the ‘Progetto Qualità’ (Quality Project) of the coop Cantina Sociale di Ortona in Italy’s Abruzzo region. Reducing the yield per hectare, ensuring rigorous quality checks and employing modern winemaking technology have all been important aspects of the quality focus for this fantastic producer, and the winemakers have already enjoyed much praise and acknowledgement for their fabulous wines. Furthermore their partnership with a local association which helps young people recover from drug addiction, displays a highly virtuous move to prioritise social contribution over their own finances.

Vignobles Silvestrini is Astrum’s first Bordeaux producer and we have taken on three stunning wines from their collection, each from a different appellation in the Libournais; Lussac-St-Emilion, Montagne-Saint-Emilion and Pomerol. The success story of this family business must be attributed in equal parts to each of the three generations that have overseen the plot grow from a one-hectare vineyard to nearly forty hectares in the prestigious Libournais. The family are adamant that a careful combination of traditional and modern winemaking techniques is responsible for the inextricable balance and harmony found in each of their wines.
